About 3 GEN Pen Company

Three generations of craftsmanship.

3 GEN Pen Company creates handcrafted writing instruments designed to be used, collected, and passed down. Each piece is made individually, one at a time, ensuring every pen carries its own distinct character.

Founded by Tim Wiley, the work is rooted in a lifelong dedication to craftsmanship that began in the mid-1980s with a family workshop known as Father and Daughter Woodworks. That early foundation continues to shape the spirit of 3 GEN—honoring tradition, material, and the process of creating something meaningful across generations.

Today, each pen is crafted using a blend of traditional techniques and modern materials, including exotic woods, Paua abalone, custom-cast resins, and occasionally historically inspired elements such as watch components. Every material is chosen for its character and shaped to highlight its natural or engineered beauty.

With more than two decades of exhibiting experience, Tim has participated in juried art and craft festivals throughout Florida and the Southeast, including the Mainsail Arts Festival, Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival, Art Harvest, and the Downtown Dunedin Craft Festival. His work is held in private collections across the United States and internationally.

3 GEN Pen Company maintains a direct connection with its collectors, many of whom return for additional pieces or custom work. Whether selected as a daily instrument, a meaningful gift, or part of a collection, each pen is created to deliver both function and lasting significance.

Each piece is made to be used, shared, and eventually passed on.
